A Network of Affordable Elder Mediators

How Elder Mediation Works
Founded by Today’s Caregiver magazine’s Publisher and Chief Education Officer, Steven C. Barg in 2017, an Elder Mediator himself, who learned from the nearly 100,000 family caregivers he has met with at the over 200 Fearless Caregiver Conferences held throughout the U.S.
Caregivers Want To Be Heard and they want to help in the caregiving process. But family dynamics and stress takes a toll on the decision making. Mediator Barg created a low cost option for families to be heard and help in the caregiving process.

If everyone in the family agrees about what is in the best interest of your senior loved one, then there is no need to engage in the process of elder mediation. But in real-life that is rarely the case. You might choose to participate in the process of elder mediation to resolve one of more thorny conflicts between family members.
Elder Mediators are trained to bring the parties to a resolution without taking sides for either one. Elder Mediators are knowledgeable in all aspects of the issues surrounding eldercare and they have expertise and experience to help the parties avail themselves of the community resources that can aid in problem resolution and provide support and assistance in the process of caring for a senior loved one.
· Elder Mediators are first and foremost impartial.
· Elder Mediators help families find a mutually agreeable conflict resolution.
· Elder Mediator’s role is as a neutral catalyst to help resolve the conflict.
